More than 1,000 people cannot leave Abshyr-Ata recreation area in Osh region. The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan reported.
On June 28, due to heavy rains, the road to Abshyr-Ata waterfall was washed away by a mudflow, 1,300 people were cut off from the outside world. Rescue and search operations are underway at the site.
At least 637 people and 19 units of special equipment are involved in the elimination of the consequences of the mudflow in Abshyr-Ata village. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has created a special headquarters. 127 rescuers, 12 doctors and a psychologist are working.
