The first commercial data processing center was launched in Kyrgyzstan, which will allow to cover 20 percent of the country’s data storage needs. It meets Tier III requirements. The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) reported.
RKDF approved financing of $1 million for the project. The Fund noted that the safety of the equipment and the reliability of storage are guaranteed. Information leaks are excluded.
«Government agencies and commercial organizations will be able to store their information with guaranteed security in the data center. I would like this data processing center to be in maximum demand, and new large-scale projects to appear in this area,» Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov said.
To date, the data processing center market in the EAEU is estimated at $400 million. The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund believes that the first commercial data processing center in the Kyrgyz Republic will allow not only storing confidential information of local government agencies and banks, but also hosting data from other states. In addition, its construction will reduce the inequality of digital infrastructure in the EAEU.
«We hope that in the next 4-5 years Kyrgyzstan will be able 100 percent meet the need for information storage using its own facilities located on our territory,» the head of the RKDF, Artyom Novikov, said.
