Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Ishaq Dar. The press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The meeting took place in Astana (Kazakhstan) as part of a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the SCO member countries.
The parties discussed the development of a mutually beneficial partnership between the Kyrgyz Republic and Pakistan in the areas of trade, investment, textile industry, tourism, education, healthcare and other areas. Particular attention was paid to intensification of economic diplomacy, cultural and humanitarian ties between the two states, as well as the exchange of visits at the high and highest levels.
The parties noted the important role of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyzstan-Pakistan Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation and the interaction of the two countries on the subregional energy project CASA-1000.
«As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to direct efforts to increasing the dynamics of mutual visits and strengthen interaction between the business circles of the two states. The parties decided to hold consultations in the near future between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries on political issues, as well as in the consular and legal sphere,» the statement says.
