Sadyr Japarov expresses condolences to President of Iran over terrorist attack

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov expressed condolences to the leader of Iran Ebrahim Raisi in connection with the tragic consequences of a terrorist attack. The press service of the head of state reported.

Sadyr Japarov sent a telegram of condolences.

«I received the sad news that innocent people were killed and injured as a result of the terrorist attack in Kerman with deep regret. The Kyrgyz Republic strongly condemns terrorism in all its manifestations that threaten global peace and stability. On behalf of the Kyrgyz people and on my own behalf, I express my deepest condolences to the families of the victims and the brotherly people of Iran. I share the pain of irreparable loss. I wish a speedy recovery to all those injured!» the text says.

At least 103 people have been killed, 140 more have been injured by two bomb explosions near the tomb of Iranian general Qasem Soleimani in the city of Kerman in southeastern Iran.

Major General Qasem Soleimani, commander of an elite unit of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was assassinated on the night of January 3, 2020. Under then U.S. President Donald Trump, a special operation to eliminate the general was carried out because he intended to blow up the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. In response, Iran launched missile strikes on two Iraqi military bases where military personnel from the U.S.-led coalition fighting the Islamic State terrorist group were stationed.
