Bomb hoaxes: Teenagers detained for anonymous calls

Four teenagers who made anonymous calls about alleged bombs in Kyrgyzstan were detained. The press center of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported.

The state committee notes that on November 30 and December 18, secondary and private schools in Bishkek received anonymous calls about allegedly planted explosive devices.

During search operations, four teenagers aged 14 and 15 were detained. They placed orders for anonymous calls through a foreign user.

«They pursued personal motives, in particular, to disrupt the educational process for hooligan reasons,» the SCNS reported.

Operational investigative measures are being carried out, based on the results of which measures will be taken. Those detained will be punished in accordance with the law.

The SCNS warns that committing these acts is subject to criminal liability under Article 259 «Knowingly false report of an act of terrorism» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic — imprisonment for a term of up to five years.
