Students sent messages about bomb in Bishkek school No. 33 - SCNS

Employees of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) found out that messages about an alleged bomb in Bishkek school-gymnasium No. 33 were sent by 9th grade students I.R., 14, A.K.,15, and E.E., 15. The SCNS press center reported.

According to it, they sent false messages to disrupt the educational process using fake accounts. The students admitted to their crime in the presence of their parents.

At the moment, the involvement of these teenagers in other similar cases of anonymous reports of bombs in the capital is being checked.

The SCNS noted that national security agencies have all the necessary technical capabilities to identify false reports of acts of terrorism.

The state committee recommends parents to periodically conduct preventive conversations with their children in order to avoid criminal liability. For knowingly false reporting of an act of terrorism (Article 259 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic), punishment is provided in the form of correctional labor from one to three years, a fine from 500 to 1,000 calculated rates, or imprisonment for up to five years.

This week school No. 33 was evacuated three times due to bomb hoaxes.
