Former football player of the Russian national team and Manchester United team Andrei Kanchelskis held negotiations with the Kyrgyz club Muras United. Sport-Express newspaper reported.
According to it, next week Andrei Kanchelskis will become the head coach of the Kyrgyz team. His goal in the new team will be the champion title and reaching the group stage of the AFC Champions League. The parties must settle the details of the contract by the end of next week.
Previously, Andrei Kanchelskis served as CEO of Tobol. He was appointed in July 2023 and left the club in November.
In the 2023 season, the team took eighth place in the standings of Kazakhstan’s championship. In November, Tobol won the National Cup and secured a berth to the Europa League.
Andrey Kanchelskis is Master of Sports of the USSR of international class, Honored Master of Sports of Russia (2011), one of the most successful and titled Russian football players.
