Sadyr Japarov extends use of licenses for trade until July

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with vendors at Dordoi market. He addressed the gathered people.

The President listened to the sellers and retailers of trade outlets. Then he took the floor and said that traders were being used. However, these words caused outrage. The crowd started whistling and shouting. Sadyr Japarov tried to calm people down and added: «I don’t blame you. Those who have been making revolutions for 30 years are using you. You are not to blame».

He also noted that tax officials turned out to be unprepared for the innovations.

«I am a mediator between the government and the people — neither on your side nor on the side of the government, I am on the side of law and order. I studied this issue for two days. And I said to extend the current rules until July. Work as it is,» the head of state said.

According to him, tax officials are interested in working on licenses.

«Their pockets are stuffed with money from this. All this will not happen. Sooner or later we will put everything in order,» Sadyr Japarov said.

He added that he started to clean up the system. «I can not say that we have solved the problem by 100 percent, but by 80-90 percent,» he concluded.

Sellers of markets have been holding rallies across the country since November 29. The day before, sellers of markets and shops in Kara-Balta city also protested. Vendors at Kara-Suu market in Osh region, Dordoi, Orto-Sai market, Madina, Alamedin market, Taatan, Aziz, and Chynar markets also held protests. Rallies took place in Osh, Talas and Karakol. All entrepreneurs have the same requirements — to allow use of licenses for trade and to abolish mandatory use of cash registers.
