Members of banned Yakyn Inkar organization detained in Suzak district

Members of the banned Yakyn Inkar organization were detained in Suzak district of Kyrgyzstan. The press center of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported.

According to it, as part of a criminal case initiated under Part 2 of Article 331 (creation and financing of an extremist organization) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, four active members of the cell of the religious extremist movement Yakyn Inkar were detained.

«It was found out that members of this cell propagated and disseminated extremist ideology in Suzak district and were engaged in missionary activities without permits from the Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan. Because of their religious views, they categorically ignored the secular lifestyle and prohibited children from attending school, undergoing vaccinations and other medical procedures,» the SCNS noted.

As a result of searches in houses, religious extremist literature of Yakyn Inkar was found. A forensic religious examination was ordered based on the seized materials. All detainees were placed in the pre-trial detention center of the SCNS.
