Deputies to transfer their one-day salary to residents of the Gaza Strip

Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Nurlanbek Shakiyev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine to Kyrgyzstan Javad Awad. The press service of the Parliament reported.

Relations between the two countries were discussed during the meeting.

Nurlanbek Shakiev noted that Kyrgyzstan is following with concern the sad events in the Gaza Strip in Palestine. «On behalf of the Parliament, I express my deepest condolences to the families and all Palestinians who have lost their loved ones as a result of the conflict. We hope that this tragedy in human history will end as soon as possible,» he said.

The speaker recalled that the VIII Islamic Summit was recently held in Riyadh to discuss the situation in Palestine.

«President Sadyr Japarov took part in this event and called on the international community to ensure unhindered access of humanitarian aid to the citizens of the Gaza Strip. In addition, a decision was made to transfer one-day salaries of deputies of the Parliament as assistance to the Palestinian people. On behalf of the head of our state, humanitarian aid will also be sent,» he noted.

Javad Awad noted that the Israeli occupation did not begin on October 7. «The violence, which has been going on for 75 years, is now accompanied by various tragedies. More than 11,000 people were killed and more than 30,000 were injured as a result of the latest invasion. About 75 percent of them are children,» he said.

The Ambassador also expressed gratitude to the President of Kyrgyzstan, the Parliament and the public for their support in these tragic days for the Palestinian people.

«We will never forget your help. Unfortunately, the delivery of humanitarian aid is obstructed and the destruction of hospitals continues. Therefore, we call on the international community to stop the Israeli occupation,» the Ambassador concluded.
