Prime Minister of Belarus: CIS countries withstood despite constant pressure

«Despite the ongoing pressure on a number of Commonwealth countries, we have withstood and maintained stability and know what to do next,» the Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in an expanded format.

According to him, the CIS needs to increase the volume of mutual trade and investment in such areas as industrial cooperation, critical imports, food security, elimination of trade barriers, and expansion of the practice of mutual settlements in national currencies.

«In addition, we are talking about providing a national regime for government procurement, circulation of seeds and agricultural crops, facilitation of the registration procedure for pesticides and fertilizers,» Roman Golovchenko said.

He proposed to consider the possibility of developing an agreement on technical barriers and mutual recognition of conformity assessment bodies at the level of the CIS Economic Council.
