Russia imposes temporary restriction on gasoline and diesel fuel exports

The Russian government has imposed a temporary restriction on the export of gasoline and diesel fuel from Russia to stabilize the domestic market. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation reported.

The relevant resolution was signed by the head of the government Mikhail Mishustin. The decision was made to stabilize fuel prices in the domestic market, the government said.

Exchange prices for fuel in Russia have been at record levels for several months. Growth rates of retail prices have significantly accelerated. Experts explained the price increase by gray exports, among other things. It was proposed to create a list of special fuel exporters as a measure to combat it. The Russian Ministry of Energy reported that it had submitted a draft decree to the Cabinet of Ministers and the presidential administration, according to which only producers would have the right to export petroleum products.
