Kyrgyzstan celebrates Komuz Day on September 9. President Sadyr Japarov congratulated the Kyrgyzstanis on this date.
The head of state noted that komuz is an invaluable artistic treasure, an unshakable sacred heritage, an integral part of the spiritual culture of the Kyrgyz people. All people, every nation has its own culture and spiritual world.
Since ancient times, the three-string komuz has set the tone for the hopes and dreams of the Kyrgyz people, their sorrows and joys, leaving a legacy for generations.
«Facts from historical sources mentioning the Kyrgyz komuz, which was played 3,000 years ago, indicate that it is one of the oldest musical instruments. Telling about the path and history of the people, putting their personal values and love into great melodies, komuz players are the bearers of the real spiritual wealth of the people,» Sadyr Japarov said.
He also recalled that in ancient times the names of great komuz players were mentioned in legends, such as Chyngyshbai, Abak, Baikabyl, Serkebai, Taiteke, Arstanbek, Tilen, Kudaibergen, Zholbun, Kydyr ake, Toktogul Satylganov, Murataly Kurenkeev, Karamoldo Orozov, Ybyrai Tumanov, Niyazaly Boroshev, Atai Ogombaev, Shekerbek Sherkulov, whose melodies are the best examples of traditional music of the Kyrgyz people, performed on the komuz.
This year, September 9—Komuz Day—coincides with a significant date—the 140th anniversary of Karamoldo Orozov, who can confidently be called the «father of melody.»
«The works of the author of the masterpieces of Kyrgyz instrumental music, the outstanding komuz player-virtuoso, the incomparable melodist Karamoldo Orozov, the melodies «Ibarat», «Zhash Kerbez», «Kara Ozgoi», «Kokoi kesti», «Nasyikat», «Syngan Bugu», are distinguished by their stylistic features, compositional structure, artistic form from the works of other masters; they are imbued with the soul of the Kyrgyz people. As long as the Kyrgyz people are alive, wonderful melodies will always and everywhere sound, passed on from generation to generation, instilling the spirit of the great Motherland; our Kyrgyz sons and daughters will play three-string komuzes, passing on the sound of the melody from century to century,» Sadyr Japarov concluded.
