The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan plans to ban electric heating in winter. The deputy head of the ministry, Taalaibek Baigaziev, announced live on the air of Birinchi Radio.
He assured that there would be no rolling blackouts during the heating season.
«Due to the shortage of water, we intend to completely ban electric heating. There will be no rolling blackouts. We will ensure an uninterrupted supply of electricity; we just need to switch to the saving mode. Each house will receive the necessary amount of electricity. At the beginning and at the end of events, we show videos on radio and television about the need to save electricity. But there will be electricity for the refrigerator, TV and electric stoves,» Taalaibek Baigaziev said.
The official noted that the issue of electricity imports is being resolved. Kyrgyzstan will buy electricity from Russia and Turkmenistan.
