A solemn handover of two Kyrgyz yurts to Kyrgyz Community Center non-governmental organization took place in Chicago (USA). Press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.
The yurts were donated to the Chicago diaspora by Sadyr Japarov as a sign of support and strengthening of ties.
Consul General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Chicago Bolotbek Borbiev read out a congratulatory message from Sadyr Japarov. The head of state stressed the importance of preserving Kyrgyz traditions and cultural heritage, regardless of the place of residence.
Yurts as a symbol of Kyrgyz culture and traditions will become an important element of the Kyrgyz Community Center and will be used in holding cultural events, meetings and educational programs that will help preserve and promote the Kyrgyz cultural heritage in the United States.
