The Laboratory of Molecular Genetic and Virological research of the Department of Disease Prevention and State Epidemiological Surveillance of Kyrgyzstan has mastered and introduced a method of organ compatibility testing in transplantology.
Earlier it was reported that patients have to travel to Kazakhstan, Turkey and other countries for the so-called HLA typing. This is a test of organs and tissues for compatibility during transplantation, so that the donor does not reject the organ. The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated 21 million soms for the purchase of laboratory equipment.
According to the department, in July 2023, a fluorescent analyzer Luminex 200 worth 14 million soms was installed and launched in the laboratory, and reagent kits for 50 tests were purchased.
Engineers from Russia conducted a five-day training for four employees of the laboratory on setting up the method.
«The equipment is highly accurate and represents a universal solution to all laboratory and diagnostic tasks of organ transplantology. Other types of research can still be implemented on the equipment. An application is being prepared for the purchase of reagents and consumables for the saved funds,» the department noted.
The tender was held three times.
