There are only five blood donors per 1,000 people in Kyrgyzstan, and to cover the need for blood there should be at least 40 donors. The Republican Center for Health Promotion and Mass Communications provided such data.
The center urges citizens of Kyrgyzstan to become donors and reminds how to prepare for blood donation.
- Refrain from drinking alcohol 48 hours before the donation procedure;
- Do not take aspirin and analgesics within 72 hours;
- Avoid fatty, spicy, smoked foods, dairy products, eggs and coffee for 24 hours;
- You should stop smoking one hour before the blood donation.
