Stone of gratitude to Kyrgyz people opened in Israel

A stone of gratitude to the Kyrgyz people, who sheltered Jewish families during the World War II, was opened in Israel. Press service of the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The minister Kudaibergen Bazarbaev noted at the opening ceremony that two names have become a symbol of free will in Kyrgyzstan — Toktogon Altybasarova, who at the age of 16 adopted 150 evacuated children, and Esther Singer, whose name symbolizes thousands of children who went through all the hardships of evacuation and were sheltered by the Kyrgyz land.

«Unfortunately, Esther, like many kids, did not survive the road, but her stone, installed in the Kyrgyz village with the Russian name Sretenka, symbolizes that we have been united in those years and today,» he said.

The minister also noted that well-being, freedom and choice, family environment for every child are the values that are put at the forefront of the policy of the President Sadyr Japarov.

«It is no coincidence that the first decrees of the head of Kyrgyzstan were decrees on morality, spirituality, support for families and children. The area of social security in the Kyrgyz Republic has received unprecedented attention in recent years. Orphans, children from low-income families, children with disabilities receive priority attention from the state,» he said.

Kudaibergen Bazarbaev is in Israel for a working visit and has already discussed with his Israeli colleague the employment opportunities of Kyrgyzstanis in this country. The delegation also includes the Deputy Minister of Education Rasul Abazbek uulu.
