The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan in the third reading adopted a draft law with amendments to the constitutional Law on the Prosecutor’s Office and the Criminal Procedure Code.
According to the bill, the investigative functions of the Prosecutor General’s Office will be transferred to the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Military Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the Justice Minister Ayaz Baetov, this initiative is aimed at providing a system of checks and balances.
