The building of the Prosecutor General’s Office was included in the list of strategic objects of Kyrgyzstan. The corresponding resolution was signed by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Akylbek Japarov.
The building is included in A category. These are objects that are important for government administration.
On April 7, 2010, the building of the country’s main supervisory authority, which was located in the center of Bishkek, was burned. The arson, as many believed, was committed by the employees themselves in order to destroy materials and criminal cases, including against the opposition that came to power.
In January 2013, the Prosecutor General’s Office moved to a new building on Toktonaliev Street.
