Agriculture Minister of Kyrgyzstan studies experience of Uruguay

As part of a business trip to Uruguay, the Minister of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan Askarbek Dzhanybekov met with the Minister of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries of Uruguay Fernando Mattos Costa. The Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

They discussed issues of state support in the agricultural sector, Askarbek Dzhanybekov also told about the export opportunities of Kyrgyzstan.

Askarbek Dzhanybekov got acquainted with the work of the National Institute of Agricultural Research, which is engaged in research on adaptation to climate change, conservation of the environment and biodiversity, as well as the introduction of new information technologies to provide high-quality and timely information to agricultural producers.

The minister visited a farm and a meat processing plant, more than 80 percent of products of which are exported. He got acquainted with the system of chipping and livestock tracking, as well as other processes that ensure the high quality and price of local agricultural products in international markets.

Uruguay successfully competes with neighboring countries thanks to the high quality guarantee and exports meat products around the world, including China, Israel and the EU states.

The ministry clarified that the objective of the trip of the Minister of Agriculture Askarbek Dzhanybekov to Uruguay is to study international best practices with a view to adapting and applying them in the Kyrgyz Republic to improve the efficiency of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan, strengthen food security and increase export potential.
