The Deposit Protection Fund was formed in the amount of 4.9 billion soms. Executive Director of the Deposit Protection Agency Kadyrbek Bukuev announced at a press conference in Bishkek.
«The fund is formed at the expense of contributions from banks, microfinance companies, housing and savings credit companies participating in the deposit protection system, contributions from the Cabinet of Ministers, interest and investment income of the agency from the placement of free funds, return of money by the agency from a liquidated bank. As of June 1, the fund was formed in the amount of 4,947,100 billion soms,» he said.
The deposit protection system covers term deposits and demand deposits of individuals, including current accounts, as well as salary accounts, accounts for receiving money transfers, pensions, scholarships and allowances, funds on settlement and deposit accounts of individual entrepreneurs. At the same time, the amount of deposits in foreign currency are paid to the depositor in soms at the official rate of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic on the day of the guarantee event.
If a guarantee event occurs in relation to several banks and microfinance companies participating in the deposit protection system, in which the depositor has a deposit, he or she has the right to receive compensation in each bank or microfinance company separately.
