The Asian Development Bank (ADB) predicts a slowdown in the economic growth of the Kyrgyz Republic to 4.5 percent by the end of 2023. Asian Development Outlook April 2023 says.
It is noted that in 2024 GDP growth will be at the level of 4 percent. At the same time, geopolitical events can affect economic growth and inflation through remittances, exchange rate fluctuations, trade and financial ties.
«Even though Kyrgyzstan had an accelerated growth of 7 percent in 2022 following a recovery in gold production and strong domestic demand, heightened uncertainty now affects much of the outlook. Growth and inflation are expected to be moderate over the forecast period with lower external inflows and less favorable conditions for trading partners. ADB remains committed to fully support the economic development of Kyrgyzstan,» said Kanokpan Lao-Araya, the Asian Development Bank Country Director for Kyrgyzstan.
