Days of Kyrgyz Culture were held at the Khabarovsk State Institute of Arts and Culture. Press service of the governor of the krai reported.
The holiday called «Ak Kalpak» was organized by representatives of the national diaspora. Its guests were told about the men’s national headdress, the meaning of the patterns on it. Those present were also introduced to the traditions and customs of the Kyrgyz, and then they were treated to national dishes: plov, boorsok, oromo and chuchuk.
«We must know the traditions, history, customs, national costumes, including the headdress, which is sacred for any Kyrgyz,» said Alexander Ivagin, Deputy Chairman of the Internal Policy Committee of the Government of the Khabarovsk Krai.
In total, more than 700 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic live in Khabarovsk Krai.
