The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed the decree on the national economic project «One Village — One Product». Press service of the head of state reported.
The project was developed in Japan for the development of the country’s regions and has made a significant contribution to improving the welfare of the population. Its concept is the study and production of unique, high-quality products that represent a particular region.
«One Village — One Product» project is based on three principles:
- Self-confidence and creativity;
- Development of human resources;
- Think locally, but act globally.
It involves the production of quality products from local resources, development of manufacturers’ skills in terms of business management, marketing and sales opportunities, promotion of products in local and international markets, building local brands and increasing their value.
«One Village — One Product» project has been implemented for several years in Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan and shows positive results in the form of job creation and profit from the export of manufactured products to Japan, China, the USA and Kazakhstan," the statement says.
To achieve further results, it is necessary to unite the efforts of government agencies, foundations, academic circles, associations, and the business sector. Qualitative scaling of «One Village — One Product» project and promotion of products from the moment the concept was born to the purchase by the end consumer will lead to a multiplier growth of the Kyrgyz economy.
Each village, city, district, region of the republic should have its own narrow specialization with an export orientation and cooperate to improve the efficiency of business management.
To spread the project throughout the rest of the country, it was decided to launch it as a national one. The Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to create a national brand «Made in Kyrgyzstan».
