Mayor of Osh Bakytbek Zhetigenov met with the world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling Akzhol Makhmudov. Press service of the City Hall reported.
The athlete’s coach Meirambek Akhmetov also participated in the meeting.
The mayor noted their contribution to the development of sports in the southern capital and for the first place in the world ranking in Greco-Roman wrestling in the weight category up to 77 kilograms handed 250,000 soms to Akzhol Makhmudov, and 50,000 soms — to his coach for the excellent training of athletes.
Akzhol Makhmudov won the World and Asian Championships, as well as the Islamic Games. At the end of 2022, he was ranked second in the world ranking, and he took the first place in the ranking this year.
