The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek has set a date for consideration of the claim of Publishing House Vecherniy Bishkek CJSC against Kaktus.media. The court office informed 24.kg news agency.
The hearing will begin on February 15. The reason for the trial was the news about the closure of Vecherniy Bishkek newspaper and dismissal of its employees. The total amount of the claim is 50 million soms. Of these, 25 million are demanded from a journalist Dilya Yusupova, editor-in-chief Natalya Timirbaeva, as well as from the founder of the media outlet Dina Maslova. Other 25 million soms are demanded from the media outlet itself.
The CJSC believes that the news item contains incorrect information about the closure of the newspaper and its bankruptcy. The company also demands to publish a retraction.
