ARVI and flu: Nearly 50 kindergartens closed in Kyrgyzstan

At least 47 kindergartens, or 2.5 percent of their total number, have been closed in Kyrgyzstan for control of the disease. The Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance informed 24.kg news agency.

According to the department, 22 kindergartens (or 15.4 percent) were closed in Naryn region, 5 (2 percent) in Chui, 1 (1.2 percent) in Talas, 17 (5.3 percent) in Jalal-Abad, and 2 (1 percent) in Batken regions. All kindergartens in Bishkek and Osh are working.

The department continues to monitor the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) and influenza daily, and the control of attendance at preschool and general education organizations has been strengthened.

It noted that due to non-compliance with the temperature regime, some schools switched to online learning. Thus, 21 schools in At-Bashi district of Naryn region and junior classes at Chkalov school in Naryn city were closed.

Three schools switched to online classes in Talas region, 14 schools in — Chui region, 154 — in Jalal-Abad region. Students of the first and preparatory grades are learning online in Kara-Kuldzha district.
