Today, the exchange offices of the capital and commercial banks set the buying rate of the American currency at the level of 85.7-86.2 soms, selling rate — at 86.7-87.2 soms. The official exchange rate is 85.68 soms.
At the same time, Kyrgyzstanis complain that it is extremely difficult to buy dollars. The real rate at which they buy and sell the currency is higher than that set.
At the same time, at the beginning of the week, the National Bank conducted the first intervention this year. A record $104,250,000 were sold on the market. The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic explained this by an increased demand for currency at the beginning of the year.
