Relatives of the detained in the case on attempt to seize power by force held another rally. People, mostly the elderly, gathered at the monument to Kurmanjan Datka in Bishkek.
They turned to the head of state and asked him for a meeting. Relatives of the detainees consider the case as political. According to them, there are no reasons for the arrest and detention of activists and politicians.
This is not the first such a rally. About 50 people gathered near the Panfilov Park on December 20. They asked to change the measure of restraint for the arrested to one not related to detention. Four participants of the rally were invited to the Government House to meet with members of the Presidential Executive Office. They were received at the department of interaction with courts and prosecution authorities.
At least 17 defendants in the criminal case on attempt to seize power by force, kept in the Bishkek remand center 1, went on a hunger strike. The condition of ex-deputy of the Parliament Orozaiym Narmatova and activist Perizat Suranova has deteriorated sharply.
The arrested placed all responsibility for the consequences of the hunger strike personally on the president of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchibek Tashiev, Minister of Internal Affairs Ulan Niyazbekov, Prosecutor General Kurmankul Zulushev and the investigators, prosecutors and judges.
