Losses of the excise tax on tobacco products will increase 2.5 times by 2025 in Kyrgyzstan. An independent expert Andrey Krasnikov announced.
According to him, excise tax losses due to a decline in the legal market of tobacco products will amount to 794 million soms next year. In 2025, this figure will already reach 1,955 billion soms.
«The legal cigarette market will shrink by 67 percent by 2025. If in 2017 it was 4.8 billion cigarettes, by 2025 it will be 1.5 billion. At the same time, excise tax revenues are also reducing. If in 2021 it was 6.1 billion soms, then in 2022 they decreased to 5.5 billion soms,» Andrey Krasnikov noted.
