Casino law: Cabinet of Ministers decides on tax rates per gaming table

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan has submitted for public discussion a draft resolution that sets the tax rates on gambling activities.

The document proposes to set the following rates per one gaming table in the casino:

  • In 2022 — 450,000 soms;
  • In 2023 — 600,000 soms;
  • From 2024 — 750,000 soms.

Per one slot machine and computer simulator:

  • In 2022 — 10,000 soms;
  • In 2023 — 15,000 soms;
  • From 2024 — 20,000 soms.

Consideration of the draft law legalizing gambling activities in the republic caused a lot of disputes in society. Opponents of its adoption held protests in Bishkek and regions.

Disputes also arose within the walls of the Parliament. Deputies were only able to pass the law on gambling activity on the fifth attempt. Deputies from the faction of Adakhan Madumarov refused to vote and actually blocked the voting procedure.

The President signed the casino law on June 30.
