Taxi drivers working without a license will be fined 7,500 soms. The Deputy Interior Minister of Kyrgyzstan Oktyabr Urmambetov said at a meeting of the Committee on Law, Order, Combating Crime and Corruption of the Parliament.
The deputies considered the draft law of the Kyrgyz Republic on amendments to the law of the Kyrgyz Republic on the Licensing and Permit System in the first reading.
The deputy minister noted that in order to obtain a license, drivers must provide conclusion of the technical inspection of the car, a license and insurance certificate.
Oktyabr Urmambetov stressed that the license would be issued for a year and would cost 500 soms for individuals and 1,000 soms for legal entities.
«Liability in the form of a fine is provided for work without a license. For drivers — 7,500 soms and 23,000 soms for firms,» Oktyabr Urmambetov said.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated the procedure for licensing taxis. The draft law on Licensing and Permit System in the Kyrgyz Republic was developed in the department. The document, if adopted, will oblige taxi drivers to obtain a license.
