The current president of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, according to preliminary data, wins the snap presidential elections. According to the exit poll, he was supported by 85.52 percent of voters. Kazakh media report, citing the data of the exit poll conducted by the Institute for Public Policy.
The results of the poll also showed that Zhiguli Dairabaev, head of the Association of Farmers of Kazakhstan, won 2.67 percent of the votes, Meiram Kazhyken, an economist, — 2.43 percent, Nurlan Auesbaev, a representative of the opposition National Social Democratic Party, got 1.93 percent of the votes, Karakat Abden, a public figure, — 2.61 percent, human rights activist Saltanat Tursynbekova — 1.44 percent. According to preliminary estimates, 3.4 percent of the voters voted against all of them.
Preliminary turnout in the presidential elections in Kazakhstan was 69.43 percent. The CIS observer mission found no violations in the elections in Kazakhstan.
