Kyrgyzstan fully provided itself with seeds of buckwheat, tobacco, oats and legumes. Bakyt Mambetov, Director of the Department for Expertise of Agricultural Crops of the Ministry of Agriculture, announced at a press conference in Bishkek.
«Provision with safflower seeds reached 65.9 percent, alfalfa — 74.3 percent, cotton — 87.1 percent, potatoes — 96.7 percent, corn — 81.4 percent, sunflower seeds— 93.1 percent and sugar beets — 40.7 percent. A balance of crop seeds for this year has been drawn up together with the district departments of agrarian development,» he said.
According to the specialist, 263 tons of seeds intended for spring sowing have been accumulated by the seed farms of the republic. At least 183 tons of them is spring wheat, 80 tons — barley and 40 tons — cotton.
