Public debt of Kyrgyzstan grows by $5.26 million for month

As a result of September 2022, the public debt of Kyrgyzstan (external + internal) amounted to $5,217.88 billion (418,384.37 billion soms). The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan provided such data.

Including $4,162.6 billion (333,769.18 billion soms) is external debt, and $1,055.28 billion (84,615.19 billion soms) is internal one.

Over the month, the level of public debt grew by $5.26 million. At the same time, external debt decreased by $17.2 million, while domestic debt, on the contrary, increased by $15.45 million.

As a result of September, the public debt amounted to 58.62 percent of GDP.

The republic owes most of all in form of bilateral concessional loans — $2,161.85 billion (51.9 percent of external debt). At least 42.7 percent of the sum is the debt to the Export-Import Bank of China, which, following the results of nine months of this year, is $1,778.39 billion. Other 46.9 percent of the external debt ($1,950.87 billion) is the debt of Kyrgyzstan on multilateral loans.
