Preventive measure against the former external manager of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC Tengiz Bolturuk has been extended. The Bishkek City Court informed 24.kg news agency.
According to the decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court of the capital, Bolturuk was remanded in custody in the remand center of the State Committee for National Security until January 10, 2023.
Lawyer Kaisyn Abakirov told 24.kg news agency that he had appealed the decision to the Bishkek City Court.
«The hearing has not yet been scheduled. My client has serious health problems — hypertension, heart and blood pressure problems. Tengiz Bolturuk has three minor children. I believe that there is no need to keep him in custody,» said Kaisyn Abakirov.
Tengiz Bolturuk and Ryspek Toktogulov were removed from their positions. It was reported that the Prosecutor General’s Office began a detailed check. It resulted in three criminal cases with preliminary damage to the state of 1 billion soms. As a result, the former external manager of Kumtor was detained and placed in the remand center of the State Committee for National Security until November 10, 2022. Tengiz Bolturuk himself does not admit his guilt. He stated that all the accusations were false. His lawyer says that the accused is ready to cooperate with the investigation.
Tengiz Bolturuk was arrested and is being kept in the remand center of the State Committee for National Security.
