Kyrgyzstan supports creation of investment fund of Turkic states

Kyrgyzstan supports the initiative to establish an investment fund of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The President Sadyr Japarov said at the summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Samarkand (Uzbekistan).

According to him, the fund will give a new impetus to the development and strengthening of cooperation between the OTS member states. The head of state also noted that the issue of transport is important for the further progressive development of trade and economic cooperation between the countries of the Turkic world.

«In the near future, we plan to begin the practical implementation of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway construction project. This project will complement the railway lines and road links of the Trans-Caspian transport route, accelerating the delivery of goods to Western countries,» Sadyr Japarov emphasized.

He also recalled that on December 16, 2021, at the initiative of Kyrgyzstan, the UN General Assembly declared 2022 the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development. To further advance the mountain agenda, the Kyrgyz Republic is promoting a draft resolution «Sustainable Mountain Development». Within its framework, an initiative was put forward to declare 2023-2027 the five years of action for development of mountainous regions.

«In May 2022, at the UN headquarters in New York, our country presented the concept of the five-year plan. Please support this initiative. All the proposals and comments voiced today, I hope, will be carefully studied, analyzed and implemented in the coming year. We believe that the historic decisions and plans being made here will serve to further advance our cooperation within the Organization. We know that strength is in unity. «Yrys aldy — yntymak» says a Kyrgyz proverb. Kyrgyzstan, as an integral part of the Turkic world, will continue to actively work to strengthen fraternal Turkic ties on the basis of mutual understanding and support,» Sadyr Japarov concluded.
