Kyrgyzstan is ready to actively cooperate with Armenia in all areas of the economy. The Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, Daniyar Amangeldiev, said at the first meeting of the Kyrgyz-Armenian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
According to him, diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Armenia were established in 1993.
The Kyrgyz Republic considers it necessary to take appropriate measures to expand trade and economic relations within the framework of bilateral partnership. It is proposed to encourage the private sector and companies to expand trade, hold trade and industry workshops, conferences, economic trade and exchange missions to deepen cooperation, and exchange information and research in support of small and medium-sized enterprises.
The minister noted the need for the practical implementation of investment projects that will contribute to the development of small and medium-sized businesses, diversification of ties, creation of new production facilities, and an increase in the added chains of the production and service cycle.
As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached on the possibilities of establishing interaction, exchanging experience and technologies in the development of intensive horticulture.
In January-August 2022, the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Armenia amounted to $3.79 million and doubled compared to the same period last year. The exports increased due to the supply of kidney beans.
