President of Kyrgyzstan meets with heads of diplomatic missions

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with the heads of a number of diplomatic missions of foreign states accredited in Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the President reported.

The Ambassadors of France François Delaus, Germany Gabriela Gellil, US Charge d’Affaires Sonata Coulter and British Chargé d’Affaires Ann Herrigan participated in the meeting. They exchanged views on current events on the bilateral agenda, as well as on the state of freedom of speech, social and political processes in the country.

Sadyr Japarov stressed that Kyrgyzstan always remains committed to the principles of the rule of law, and human rights and freedoms are among the highest values ​​in the country.

«At the same time, he added that freedom leads to responsibility, and responsibility leads to freedom, therefore, the more freedom, the more responsibility. Therefore, the head of state noted the only requirement that no one in the Kyrgyz Republic is allowed to violate is strict observance and enforcement of the current legislation,» the statement says.

The Ambassadors thanked Sadyr Japarov for the opportunity to meet and discuss in detail all the current issues of concern to the parties and the public, which indicates the readiness of the Kyrgyz authorities to conduct an open dialogue. They noticed that Kyrgyzstan, according to the ratings of international organizations, remains the leader in terms of freedom of speech and democracy in the region.

Touching upon the events on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, representatives of the diplomatic corps noted that, together with international organizations and journalists, they examined the destroyed social and infrastructure facilities in Batken region and were saddened by the scale of the tragedy.

At the end of the meeting, the President emphasized readiness for an active dialogue with various public groups on all issues.
