About six tons of drugs have been seized in Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of the year. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
«About six tons of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors were seized from illicit trafficking for nine months, which is 90 percent more than in the same period last year. Of this amount, more than 3.5 tons of drugs were seized from illegal circulation by the service, which is 50 percent more than last year,» the statement says.
The State Service on Drug Control of the Ministry of internal Affairs seized:
- Heroin — 9,092 grams;
- Opium — 7,811 grams;
- Hashish — 128,424 grams;
- Marijuana — 129,260 grams;
- Cannabis plants — 6,806 grams;
- Psychotropic substances — 213,907 grams;
- Cannabis extract — 21,641 grams;
- Cannabis straw — 6,549 grams;
- Precursors — about 3 tons.
At least 410 crimes were registered on the fact of drug trafficking.
At a meeting on the results of the work of the service for nine months, special attention was paid to units with low performance. In addition, the leadership of the service noted the existing shortcomings in the activities of individual structural units and voiced the deadlines for their elimination.
