Charitable organization of Qatar will build a social town for affected Batken residents. Press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.
The Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev received the Regional Director of Qatar Charity in the Kyrgyz Republic Abdul Nasser Ibrahim Al-Fahra.
The parties discussed restoration of social facilities in Batken region, which were damaged as a result of an armed attack by Tajikistan.
The minister asked to pay special attention to the implementation of medical projects in Batken region.
Abdul Nasser Ibrahim Al-Fahra emphasized that the cooperation established between the parties was developing successfully, noting that since the beginning of the year the organization has implemented 85 social projects in various fields. Food packages were also distributed among 800 families and 1,000 children were provided with winter clothes in Batken region. In the future, it is planned to distribute 3,000 food packages.
The Regional Director of the organization expressed his readiness to implement a project on building a social town consisting of residential buildings, schools, hospitals and other facilities for the affected residents of Batken region.
He said that special attention would be paid in the near future to increasing the amount of assistance allocated to Kyrgyzstan and promotion of new projects, including the construction of IT centers for children.
