Deputies will consider an agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan on the delimitation and demarcation of the border at the meeting of parliamentary committee on international affairs, defense, security and migration on Monday.
Journalists are allowed into the meeting room strictly according to the lists, which have been compiled in addition to official accreditation in the Parliament.
All those present were warned that recording equipment should not be brought into the hall: smartphones, telephones, laptops, voice recorders and video cameras are taken away at the entrance by state security officers. Journalists are carefully checked for more than half an hour at the entrance to the hall, where the meeting has already begun.
It is known that the head of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev came to the meeting.
Residents of Uzgen and some deputies oppose the protocol signed in Tashkent on several sections of the border, including on Kempir-Abad reservoir. Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev had previously met with local residents and promised to revise the agreement with Uzbekistan.
A meeting with the President Sadyr Japarov was held in Uzgen district on October 4. Local residents held a rally, where they opposed transfer of Kempir-Abad reservoir to Uzbekistan.
