More than 10,000 ethnic Kyrgyz live in the country without documents. The Deputy Minister of Labour, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan Nurdoolot Bazarbaev said at a parliamentary meeting.
According to him, this is why they cannot get the status of returnees and have no access to medical services.
The deputies heard the information on the bill, according to which the registration of ethnic Kyrgyz is simplified in the republic.
According to the Deputy Labor Minister, the bill is also aimed at simplifying the procedure of obtaining citizenship for the ethnic Kyrgyz.
«People get the status of returnee if they are identified by the consulate or embassy. The commission will deal with it. If a person does not have a permanent place of residence, local authorities can register him or her,» Nurdoolot Bazarbaev said.
