The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation warns citizens of Kyrgyzstan temporarily residing in Russia against participation in armed conflicts on the territory of foreign states and reminds them of criminal liability. Statement of the press service of the Embassy says.
«In connection with the adoption by the State Duma of the Russian Federation of legislative acts providing for the simplified procedure of acquisition of Russian citizenship by foreigners who have signed a contract on service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, we warn citizens of Kyrgyzstan temporarily residing in Russia against participation in armed conflicts or hostilities on the territory of foreign states for which criminal liability has been established,» the statement says.
In accordance with Article 256 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, the participation of citizens of Kyrgyzstan in hostilities on the territory of foreign states is punishable by imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of property.
If citizens of Kyrgyzstan receive a call to participate in any hostilities, the Embassy asks to immediately contact the diplomatic mission of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation.
