A telephone conversation took place between the Presidents of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
They discussed the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border.
Sadyr Japarov told Shavkat Mirziyoyev about the number of killed and injured from the Kyrgyz side, destruction of civil and social infrastructure facilities in the border villages of Batken region.
The President of Uzbekistan expressed deep condolences to the families and friends of those killed during the tragic events in southern Kyrgyzstan.
The parties noted the importance of resolving the situation between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan exclusively by peaceful diplomatic means.
An exchange of views also took place on issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as the practical implementation of joint projects, including the promotion of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway construction project.
