Invasion of Kyrgyzstan: Victims in Batken need blood

Batken residents, who suffered as a result of Tajikistan’s aggression at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, need blood. The Republican Blood Transfusion Center reported.

Potential donors can reportedly come at the address: Bishkek, 60, Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue.

Working hours: Monday — Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

It is necessary to bring a passport, driver’s license or military ID. Before the blood donation procedure, please, exclude fatty, fried, dairy products. All blood centers in the regions work similarly.

As of 10 a.m. on September 17, at least 500 Bishkek residents came to donate blood.

Shooting began at several sites of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the morning of September 16. Settlements in Leilek and Batken district came under fire. The Ministry of Health reported 103 victims, 24 people were killed. As a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, residents of seven villages in Batken and Leilek districts, as well as Dzhekendi village in Chon-Alai district of Osh region, left their homes.

Presidents Sadyr Japarov and Emomali Rahmon agreed to ceasefire. But, according to the latest data from the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, the Tajik side violated the agreements again.
