SOS button for women and girls will start working in pilot mode in Kyrgyzstan within two months. The Deputy Interior Minister Suyunbek Niyazbekov announced at a meeting of Butun Kyrgyzstan parliamentary faction.
According to him, the practice is adopted from the Turkish police.
Support in the creation of infrastructure is provided by the OSCE.
«Within two months, the project will start working in a pilot mode based on KADES program. It is the button for women and girls. We will take the keys, install the infrastructure,» Suyunbek Niyazbekov told.
In addition, the Turkish police developed and launched KADES mobile application several years ago. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic is going to adopt its principle. The program was created to help victims of domestic violence and other threatening situations. It is necessary to install the application, enable the geolocation function and press a special virtual button if necessary. After pressing the button, the police receive a notification and send help.
