Electrification of Lugovaya–Balykchy section included in priority EAEU projects

List of priority infrastructure projects of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the field of transport includes the electrification of Lugovaya — Balykchy railway section in Kyrgyzstan. The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reports.

The list of priority infrastructure transport projects in the EAEU countries was approved on Friday at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

«The adopted document will serve as a basis for ensuring coordination of the Union countries in the implementation of infrastructure projects with great integration potential,» Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission, said.

The list includes projects in all countries of the Union, for example, the program of North — South road corridor (fourth stage) in Armenia and the reconstruction of M-1 / E 30 highway Brest (Kozlovichi) — Minsk — the border of the Russian Federation (Redki) in Belarus. Reconstruction of Kazakhstani sections of M-32 highway, which are the part of the international transport route Europe — Western China, is also on the list. Construction and modernization of Russian sections of highways, which are the part of the international transport route Europe — Western China, is also included in the document.

«In total, the list includes seven projects of the EAEU countries at various stages of implementation. At the same time, all of them are aimed at developing the Eurasian transport corridors and routes, transit potential and transport infrastructure, which is included in the international transport corridors in East — West and North — South directions, including as part of interfacing with the Chinese One Belt, One Road initiative,» the statement says.
