Development of a feasibility study for the construction of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway will be completed approximately in the second quarter of 2023. The Chief Engineer of Kyrgyz Temir Zholu state enterprise Roman Spassky told today at a briefing.
According to him, 157 specialists from China arrived in Kyrgyzstan to start developing a feasibility study. The first group went to Naryn region, the second — to Jalal-Abad.
«The route of the road remains the same: Torugart — Arpa — Makmal — Jalal-Abad. It was chosen due to the fact that roads are planned to be connected in the future,» Roman Spassky said.
China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan intend to sign an agreement on the railway at the SCO summit in Samarkand in September.
